I just wanted to let you know that we received the Hanafuda cards and have been using them extensively over the holidays. We bought them to replace a worn out set that my mother brought from Japan more than 30 years ago. These cards are beautiful and very good quality, and have been big hit in our family.

I would like to thank David for bearing with my PayPal problems and being overall very helpful and showing consideration and patience. I received my Genkai mahjong set two weeks after placing an order, a week after it was sent from Japan. The set was exactly as shown on the photos, top quality as promised, carefully packed, and everything was in place (even some spare scoring sticks). It was delivered by an EMS courier right to the door. David even took extra time to notify me about some minor changes in the set composition and have sent me additional photos, asking me to confirm my order.

I would recommend this shop to anybody who'd like to buy a japanese mahjong set or accessories, for it is fast,** reliable and you get exactly what you see on the website. David is a great seller, caring for his client's problems and trying to find solutions together. I am very impressed overall and can surely say this was my best international shopping experience, despite my problems with paying from Russia via PayPal.

David,

Hi David,

I would just like to let you know that the set I ordered here arrived in perfect condition. I'd have to say the set looks splendid. If I had the money I'd even buy the yakuman set if the take set is already this good. I am quite pleased that I ordered from your site.

Thank you for the great service!

Thanks,

Ryan

Hello, David. Sorry for disturbance, but what’s about washizu mahjong set? I didn’t receive any messages from you about it since I asked. Is it still possible to purchase it?

  • admin:

    Hi Nikolay,

    Sorry about that!

I just sent you an email. I do sell Washizu mahjong sets, when I find them at a reasonable price, but I don’t feature them on this website because the quality of the finish is not so great.

    Best wishes,

    David Hurley

  • admin:

    Hi Nikolay,

Oh yes, I’m sorry about that. I checked my suppliers here in Hiroshima and no Washitsu sets are available at present. I’ve also tried my contacts elsewhere in Japan but I haven’t been able to find a source for Washitsu sets anywhere.

    David

  • Nikolay:

    Hi David.

Thanks a lot for your time devoted to my question. If you accidentally find one of these sets, let me know about this, as I don’t think I’ll be able to purchase it from other sellers.

    Best regards,

    Nikolay

  • admin:

    Hi Nikolay,

If I find a Washizu mahjong set I’ll let you know!

    Hello, David.

I found one of washizu mahjong sets in stock on mahjonmart.com. I’d like to purchase it, but I still hope to buy it from you. Would you please check your suppliers once again? It will be much appreciated.

  • Kakko:

How much would the S&H be for the junk mat combi set when shipped to finland?
and any photos on the Wind Tessera and Scoring Tallies,
as the pic enlargement button wont work i cant see much.

  • admin:

    Hi Kakko,

Shipping and handling to Finland for the Combi set is $95 by Express Mail Service.

Here’s a link to a bigger photo of the Wind Tessera and Scoring Tallies. It’s a photo of the green-tile set, but the Wind Tessera and Scoring Tallies are exactly the same as for the Combi Set.

  • Vadim:

    Hi,
I’m really interested in the differents sets. This kind of set can’t be found here (in France). The problem is the shipping cost is very high (It basically doubles the price of the cheapest sets). Is it possible to use something cheaper than EXPRESS MAIL SERVICE?
    Thank you

  • admin:

    Hi Vadim,

Sorry, I only use Express Mail Service to ship mahjong sets.

It’s true that the shipping cost is expensive. On the other hand, EMS is fast and reliable. It also comes with tracking and insurance. Actually, airmail without tracking is just as expensive, but has NO tracking and NO insurance. Surface mail is a bit cheaper, but takes several weeks, comes with NO tracking and NO insurance and is not always reliable.

    Best wishes,

    David

  • Frank:

    Hey Man

I am looking to buy a Green Mahjong Set that you got displaying at the top of the page and one of the mat that comes with the Combi. How much would that cost in total after including tax and shipping & handling?

  • admin:

    Hi Frank,

If you want to buy them as separate items, the total for everything, including tax and shipping & handling is $230. If you want to buy the items as a “Combi” set the total would be $185. NOTE: the green tiles are heavier than the standard tiles, so the shipping is a little higher. If you want to go for the Combi option, send me a message via the online form and I’ll send you a Paypal payment request.

    Online form: http://www.japanese-games-shop.com/contact/

  • Frank:

    Hey David

How much is the Green Mahjong Set just by itself after including shipping and tax?

  • admin:

$140 – You can find the total price of any item by clicking the Paypal button and checking your cart. :)

  • Frank:

    Hey David

Can you explain why the S&M fee for the $25 mat cost $60 while the S&M of the $45 mat cost $45? To me I thought the S&M for the $25 one would be $25….

  • Frank:

    Hey David

How does the weight and the size of the “White Tiger” tiles compare to those of “Green” tiles?

  • admin:

    Hi Frank,

The cheaper mat costs more to ship because it is heavier.

    DH

  • admin:

    Hi Frank,

The White Tiger tiles are about 1mm bigger across the face, and a bit flatter and thinner than standard and green-backed tiles. The White Tiger set weighs 2.2kg; I don’t have a green-backed set to hand, but I think it is a similar weight.

    DH

  • Kirill:

    Hi David,
I’m looking for a set with traditional design (green sou/hatsu tiles). Do you have any?

  • admin:

I don’t have any of those sets at the moment. You may need to order a custom-made mahjong set to meet your requirements. Please note that custom-made sets are quite expensive!

  • KaNawogirusa:

Hi, how much is the cheapest shipping cost, with tracking number, to Argentina for a Standard Japanese Mahjong Set (the 55u$s one).
    Thanks
